Coton make historic change from Red to Green

Here at Coton Green FC, we are now entering our 42nd season as a club. Across that period of time, we have seen exponential growth going from 1 team in our inaugural season in 1982; through to us being 18 teams strong in 2024 with proven pathways to senior Men’s & Ladies football.

We are one of the oldest clubs in Tamworth, and have developed both our name and reputation as a community club with a focus on player development and enjoyment. As part of that, in recent years we have adopted our club nickname of the Green Army, and the next stage of our journey sees us fully embracing that moniker.

Our kits have always been predominantly red, but an exciting change is upon us. Next season (2024/25) we will begin the transition as a club from ? to ?. Over the last 6 seasons we have utilised Green as our away kit, but moving forward this will now be our home colours. We won’t completely lose our heritage though, as our traditional red colours will become our new away colours.

We felt the time was right to take this big step forward and fully embrace that true #GreenArmy spirit. We are pleased to reveal our new kit in the image below, as we also adopt a new kit manufacturer in an exciting partnership with Kappa. This is accompanied by a sleek all blue goalkeeper strip (with an alternative orange GK strip), and we can’t wait to see our teams donning the new club colours in the upcoming seasons.

The transition of our Junior kits (U7 - U18) will not be mandatory for the 2024/25 season, as we look to honour the 2 year sponsorship deals put in place by supporters of our junior teams last summer.

You will also start to see gradual changes in some of the signage around the ground as this transitions over from red to green, as well as a slight change to our social media post emojis moving from ?⚫️? to ?⚫️? - we can’t wait for you all to be a part of this exciting next chapter of Coton Green Football Club.
